Do you care about Castle Vale? Want to help shape a better future for our homes and community?

We’re setting up a Citizens Jury - a small group of local people who will help shape plans to make homes in Castle Vale warmer, more comfortable, and cheaper to run. Everyone that is part of the Jury will receive up to £150 for to recognise their valuable contribution.

What is a Citizens Jury?

A Citizens Jury is a small group of local people who come together to help shape decisions that affect where they live, or their community. It’s a way of making sure local voices are heard when important plans are being developed. Information is shared, options are talked through, and people are given space to say what they think, based on their own lives and experiences.

For the Powering Up Castle Vale Citizens Jury, we’ll be working together to explore ways to give Castle Vale cheaper energy and warmer, more comfortable homes.

Over three sessions taking place from March to April (around 10 hours in total), we’ll talk through ideas, hear what feels right or wrong, and work together to improve the plans. There will be time between meetings to think things over, and sometimes people with specialist knowledge will join us to provide information and guidance.

What the Jury says will help shape the final decisions about homes, energy, and future improvements in Castle Vale.

Who can take part? 

To take part, you need to live in Castle Vale and be aged 16 or over. We’ll then bring together a group of people that reflects Castle Vale, with a mix of different backgrounds, experiences, and views from across the community.
