Powering Up Castle Vale is about making sure decisions about homes, energy and the future of the neighbourhood are shaped with the people who live here.

Over the past year, local people have shared their ideas and experiences through community events, home energy assessments and our Citizens’ Jury. Our Citizens’ Jury felt strongly that local people should lead the way in Castle Vale’s energy future  and that the benefits should stay within the community.

One of the ideas now being developed is Castle Vale Community Energy... a community-owned energy company for Castle Vale. The aim is to use local roofs, land and other suitable spaces to generate solar energy, with local people helping shape how it works and how the benefits are shared.
